EEI Water Conservation:
3rd ANNUAL ENVIRONMENTAL SUMMIT (April 1st, 2017)
The Theme of this year’s summit, Water Conservation: Making a Difference, reflects the vision and mission of the City of Dallas Environmental Education Initiative. The summit will provide an opportunity for teams of Dallas High School students to propose experimental projects which foster urban water conservation. Posters outlining each team’s water conservation project will be reviewed by University professors and water conservation professionals during the summit. Competitive funding will be available for (at minimum) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place projects!! All participating students will receive messenger bags, padfolios and a shirt.
The Projects: research projects with results conducted in Year 2, will present at the 3rd Annual EEI Summit in 2017. Additional ongoing and/or new high school teams will have the opportunity to propose their experimental projects at the 3rd Annual EEI Summit for implementation in Year 3; continuing annually through 2018.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Alexandra Ponette-González PhD, University of North Texas a biophysical geographer specializing in global environmental change and tropical terrestrial ecosystem dynamics, particularly in Latin America.Her research examines the effects of land-use change and climatic variability on the water cycle, atmospheric deposition, and vegetation dynamics.

If you are a high school student in the City of Dallas and would like to submit a project proposal for this year’s summit, work with your sponsor teacher to fill out your information and upload your project abstract by clicking on the link below. Your abstract can be edited after submission, before presenting your project proposal poster at the summit.
The official poster template for the summit will be available soon. All posters will be submitted electronically in advance, then printed by the EEI staff.
